Monaco's senior residents will again receive gifts ahead of National Day, a tradition started by Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, with Princess Stephanie set to hand them out in person on November 18.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene are continuing a tradition they started of giving gifts to Monaco's senior residents ahead of National Day, with this year's distribution set for Wednesday, November 18 at 2:30pm at the Foyer des Aines Monegasques on Avenue de la Quarantaine. Princess Stephanie is set to hand out the gifts in person, connecting with older residents the day before the principality's larger National Day celebrations.
Monegasque residents aged 60 and older can register for the gift between October 20 and October 22, either by phone or through the official Monaco government website, keeping the process open for a short window ahead of the distribution itself. The gesture has become one of the quieter fixtures of Monaco's National Day calendar, giving the royal family a chance to mark the occasion with the principality's older residents a day ahead of the wider public events.
National Day itself, also known as La Fete du Prince, falls on November 19 and typically includes a Thanksgiving Mass at Monaco Cathedral and a military ceremony at the Prince's Palace. Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella have taken part in previous editions of the celebrations, giving the youngest generation of the royal family a growing role in a calendar built around Monaco's national holiday.
For Princess Stephanie, the senior gift distribution sits alongside a broader record of charitable work in Monaco, including her involvement with Fight Aids Monaco. Handing out the gifts in person keeps the tradition her brother and sister in law started closely tied to the royal family itself, rather than treating it as a purely administrative gesture ahead of the principality's main day of celebration.
