The 16th annual Women of Monaco Lunch filled the Salon Mediterranee at the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo on October 8, with guests dressed head to toe in red for a fundraiser organised by Sandrine Knoell of 5 Stars Events, supported by Barclays Private Bank. By the end of the afternoon, the event had raised 35,000 euros for the Princess Grace Foundation, more than double the 13,700 euros collected at the previous year's green themed edition.

The Princess Grace Foundation, established in 1964, supports hospitalised children and their families, funds paediatric medical research, and promotes cultural initiatives for young people, work that the lunch's growing totals have helped sustain each year since it began. Lady Tina Green set the tone for this year's edition before the first course was served, pledging 10,000 euros in advance of the lunch.

The afternoon's auction turned into its own contest once a Vertigo II ring from De Trazegnies went under the hammer, an 18 carat palladium white gold piece set with 38 natural white diamonds. Lady Tina Green and Lady Monika Bacardi pushed the bidding back and forth until organisers settled the duel by having both donate 7,000 euros each, sending a ring home with each bidder rather than declaring a single winner.

Other lots on the block included a wooden sculpture by Marcos Marin depicting Grace Kelly, a couture gown by Irina Marchuk, six bottles of SGC La Liberte wine, and an embroidered set marking the 70th anniversary of the 1956 royal wedding. Guests including Lady Tina Green, Lady Monika Bacardi and Victoria Silvstedt sat down to a menu from two Michelin starred chef Christophe Cussac of Les Ambassadeurs, running from prawns with walnuts and red endives through veal with aromatics to a raspberry pavlova with hibiscus and chocolate, poured alongside Veuve Clicquot Champagne and wines from Provence.
