Prince Albert II, a keen padel enthusiast and accomplished amateur player, visited the venue hosting the padel competition at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy. He met several players before heading down to the central court to conduct the coin toss for a quarter final match.
The toss preceded the match between French pair Timeo Fonteny and Yoan Boronad and Portuguese brothers Nuno and Miguel Deus. The Prince's presence appeared to bring good fortune to the Deus brothers, who won 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi finals of the lower half of the draw.
Prince Albert II watched several matches from the VIP tribune at Parco Mediterraneo Salinella, the main venue for the padel competition at the Taranto Mediterranean Games.
