Monaco-Monte-Carlo station was closed to passengers on Tuesday afternoon after a man fell onto the tracks near platform C, on the line toward Marseille. The incident happened at around 4pm, bringing rail traffic to an immediate halt in both directions.
Monaco's firefighters, an emergency medical team and officers from the Public Security department responded to the scene. At the time of publication, emergency crews were attempting to resuscitate the man, whose condition was not known.
Access to the station remained closed for the duration of the intervention, causing significant disruption to rail services through Monaco. The exact circumstances of the fall have not yet been established.
