The sixth edition of the Monaco Smart and Sustainable Marina Rendezvous was held at the Yacht Club de Monaco, bringing together delegations from thirty countries to discuss the future of sustainable waterfront infrastructure. The event, organized by M3 Monaco, reaffirmed the principality's position as a hub for expertise in the marine sector and international collaboration.
José Marco Casellini, CEO of M3 Monaco, highlighted his organization's role in connecting startups, established businesses and innovators to develop better and more sustainable marina solutions.
Egypt's delegation, represented by the country's ambassador to France, H.E. Dr Tarek M. Dahroug, underlined the nation's need to build yachting infrastructure and training institutions. Egypt is seeking cooperation with Monaco and its European partners to close gaps in technical expertise.
In Hong Kong, the Airport City project presented by Skytopia general manager Chris Wong includes a planned 500-berth marina, with phased completion beginning in 2028 that would make it the territory's largest marina. Discussions also touched on projects in Indonesia and India, reflecting the global scale of sustainable waterfront development.
Among the highlights of the gathering was a panel on the bio-positive marina, where biodiversity meets the balance sheet, moderated by Neity Maddock and featuring Dr Megan Clampitt of Ponant's Pont science program, Sofía Sonsoles Doyágüez Sánchez of Go Bridge The Gap, Luca Gamberini of Nemo's Garden and Gonca Melek Özkan of Setur Marinas.
